Happy Independence Day!
Happy 4th everybody! I know that I haven't posted in awhile, I'm busy getting ready to move and I just got back from a trip to Hong Kong where I got to see the closest thing to free-market capitalism at work. Anyway, here is a little police brutality to get everyone thinking about how today is supposed to be a day of celebrating liberty and freedom, not just hot dogs and hamburgers.

The Government Seeks Power, Immigration
Obama administration seeks powers to shut firms like AIG
It's been awhile since I last posted, but everything has gotten so ridiculous that I just stopped getting angry. I feel that I'll have to emigrate at sometime in my lifetime, just as my grandparents fled a country downtrodden by 80 years of imperialism, fascism, and war.
Anyway, as for the article, is this a surprise to anybody? I've given up hope and any faith in this system. I guess democracies will never work as long as the population still expects something for nothing and to be protected from their own mistakes. I'm sorry for the depressing attitude, but people will start voting with their feet soon.
These people are what made this country so great, they didn't ask for bailouts or welfare checks. They didn't show up to work with a football jersey on and wonder why they didn't get hired. They didn't (wrongly) assume that having an SUV with cheap gas to fill it with is some kind of human right that should be enshrined by the government. They came here looking for work and asking not to be harassed by an oppressive or overzealous government. I really can't even begin to comprehend how people have the audacity to ask for all this GARBAGE and how they can't bear to move from their McMansion to an apartment when all of these people left their homes forever to come here with just the clothes on their back.
